I’m back to my old blogging ways – I’ve missed you. My Facebook and Twitter might tell me what’s happening in Iran or Honduras or Oakland in the moment, but I miss the long-term connection. The t-shirt said it best – 120 is the new 420. So I’m back.
I just had to share this interview from this morning- with Lisa Jervis. By the time she walked into the KPFA studio, I had googled her enough to know she co-founded the ever-insightful Bitch Magazine. She is totally Oakland – feisty and tatted up and totally authentic. I liked her on sight. Now, she’s discussing her new book – a cookbook no less – entitled, Cook Food: A Manualfesto for Easy, Healthy Local Eating. I told her straight away that I was trying to decide whether to say the b-word on the air. It’s allowed, after all. On a lark, I went for it. You’ll see from the interview I made the right decision.
